Midwest Homes, Inc. is a family owned custom home builder started by Bill McKee and has been building primarily in Dane County since 1968. We employ an in-office draftsman/designer to create your new home from ideas, or we are happy to work from plans that you may already have. Our skilled team of carpenters has experience in creating the perfect 1,400 sq.ft. starter home, or the 7,000 square foot dream home on the lake.
Quality, innovation and attention to detail have always been the focus of Midwest Homes, Inc. In 1993, Bill’s son Brian McKee earned the job of Construction Manager. Brian learned the construction business from the "ground up". He started as a laborer while in high school, and worked the last two years of high school as a carpenter. While attending the University of Wisconsin - Whitewater, he began running small projects in the field. Brian graduated in 1991 from the University of Wisconsin - Whitewater with a degree in Finance and Real Estate Development. In addition, Brian became a licensed Wisconsin Real Estate Broker in 1993 and the Broker of Midwest Homes Realty, Inc. in of 1996. From 1996-2004 Brian has served as a judge for the Parade of Homes of Milwaukee, WI.
In 1998, Brian was elected to the Wisconsin Builder’s Association (WBA) Board of Directors and in 2001 served on the executive committee of the WBA as Area Vice President for Southern Wisconsin.
In 1999, Brian was elected to the Madison Area Builder’s Association (MABA) Board of Directors. Brian was elected to serve on the executive committee of the MABA as Treasurer in 2000, President Elect in 2001 and President in 2002, Immediate Past President in 2003 and currently serves on the Public Policy Task Force and Governmental Affairs Committee for the Association.
In 1999, Brian also became a Director of the National Association of Home Builder’s
